Texas Longhorns Secure Victory Over Lamar in Final Midweek Game

AUSTIN, Texas — In a commanding performance, the No. 1 Texas Longhorns clinched a 9-3 victory against Lamar on Tuesday night at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. This win marks an important rebound for the Longhorns (39-8) as they wrap up their midweek contests for the season.

The game showcased Texas’s offensive prowess, highlighted by a remarkable 16 walks drawn, a season record. Third baseman Casey Borba played a pivotal role, achieving a walk in all four of his initial at-bats. Borba later ignited a crucial five-run eighth inning with a two-run homer, pushing Texas ahead 6-3 after Lamar had closed the gap.

Catcher Rylan Galvan contributed significantly with a two-RBI double, further extending Texas’s lead. Additionally, shortstop Jalin Flores marked a personal milestone by achieving his team-leading 50th run batted in, reflecting the Longhorns’ depth in offensive talent.
