Press Release: Mesquite Police Chase Suspect in Stolen Ambulance
MESQUITE, Texas — A dramatic incident unfolded on Monday when Mesquite police pursued a suspect driving a stolen ambulance along Interstate 20. According to police reports, the ambulance was taken from the Dallas Regional Medical Center, located on Galloway Avenue in Mesquite.
Witnesses observed the unusual situation unfold when a nude male, who had recently been transported to the hospital, commandeered the Allegiance Ambulance and sped away. Mesquite officers quickly responded and attempted to stop the vehicle; however, the suspect fled the scene, prompting a high-speed chase.
The pursuit ended safely with the suspect being apprehended near Talty, Texas, after police deployed spike strips that disabled the ambulance. Thankfully, there were no accidents or injuries reported during the chase.
As of now, police have not released the identity of the suspect or provided details on the charges he may face. The incident is currently under investigation by the Mesquite Police Department.
