LIVE UPDATES: ‘No Kings’ Protests in Dallas-Fort Worth This Saturday

Press Release: Nationwide "No Kings" Protests Set for Saturday

Thousands of protesters are expected to take to the streets across the United States on Saturday for the "No Kings Day of Mobilizations." Initiated by the 50501 movement, the protests are aimed at opposing the Trump administration, coinciding with Flag Day, President Trump’s birthday, and the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Army.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has deployed over 2,000 Texas DPS troopers and 5,000 National Guard soldiers in preparation for the anticipated demonstrations. In North Texas, organizers, particularly from Latino groups, are urging for peaceful protests.

Key protest locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area include Dallas City Hall from 12-2 p.m., Burk Burnett Park in Fort Worth from 12-2 p.m., and several others in Arlington, Denton, Frisco, McKinney, Flower Mound, and Burleson at various times throughout the day.

The No Kings theme serves as a counter-narrative to a military parade scheduled in Washington, D.C., featuring military vehicles and personnel, intended to celebrate the Army’s anniversary and Trump’s birthday. Protest organizers assert that "the flag doesn’t belong to President Trump; it belongs to us," aiming to reclaim national symbols from what they perceive as authoritarianism and billionaire-first policies.

With protests planned in nearly 2,000 cities, the movement seeks to unite people of all ages for nonviolent demonstrations against perceived threats to democracy. The events are promoted as the largest single-day mobilization since Trump took office, with organizers prepared for millions to assemble nationwide.
