Scholarships for East Texas Students Now Open for Application
East Texas – The East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF) is inviting applications from students in East Texas for scholarships designated for the 2025-2026 academic year. The submission deadline for the online application is set for March 1, 2025. Detailed eligibility criteria and application links can be found on the ETCF website.
This year, seven new scholarships have been introduced, including:

Lady Denise Sanders Robertson Memorial Scholarship: Established by New Life Community Church, this scholarship honors Lady Denise’s legacy by supporting African American high school graduates and non-traditional students from Smith County planning to major in fields like Theology or Fine Arts.

Kay Howry & Freda Harder Encouragement Scholarship: A tribute to two inspiring educators, this scholarship will assist graduating seniors from specific high schools in Tyler and LaRue who demonstrate personal strength and potential.

Larry R. Smith First Responders Scholarship: Created to support students pursuing careers in public safety, this scholarship is backed by the Smiles Four Kids Golf Tournament committee.

Eiche Family Scholarship: A renewable scholarship for graduating seniors from Smith County, eligible recipients may attend any college or university within the ETCF’s service area.

St. Paul Presbyterian Legacy Scholarship: This scholarship supports students influenced by the ministries of St. Paul Presbyterian Church and Grace Presbytery.

Tabbotha McGee Memorial Scholarship: Established in honor of Tabbotha McGee, this scholarship supports Tyler ISD students desiring to pursue nursing degrees at Tyler Junior College.
- Nancy A. Berkhouse Classical Art Scholarship: Awarded to current college students pursuing arts degrees with a focus on classical painting genres.
