The epicenter of the earthquake was located approximately 72 miles east of Bogotá. The tremor, classified as “light” in intensity, was felt in various regions, though the most significant shaking occurred within the designated area.
Seismologists anticipate that aftershocks may follow the initial quake. These smaller seismic events typically arise as the Earth stabilizes along fault lines that shift during a larger earthquake.
