Tornadoes Hit West Texas, Storms Expected in North Texas This Weekend
DALLAS – Tornadoes lashed West Texas on Thursday night, prompting heightened storm warnings and concerns for the Dallas-Fort Worth area over the weekend. Meteorologists have noted that typical early June heat and humidity may escalate storm chances across North Texas.
Forecasters predict scattered storm opportunities across the region over the next five days, sustaining flood risks. Today, the Dallas-Fort Worth area may experience the outskirts of incoming storm systems from Oklahoma. Heat indices are projected to remain in the low 90s, while potential disturbances late Saturday night could bring more storms early Sunday morning, amplifying risks for heavy rainfall and high winds reaching up to 65 mph.
Sunday’s temperatures will hover between the 80s and 90s, but residents should be alert for initial late evening storms, which could bring hail and an increased risk of tornado activity. Flooding remains a concern into Monday morning. While clearer conditions are expected Monday and Tuesday, sporadic showers could emerge later in the week.
