Former Little Elm ISD Custodian Arrested for Alleged Sexual Abuse of Students

LITTLE ELM, Texas – A former custodian employed at Brent Elementary School in Little Elm ISD has been arrested following allegations of sexually abusing students. Eric Lazaro Landaverde, 64, was taken into custody on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child after a parent reported inappropriate contact involving him.

The investigation, initiated by the Little Elm Police Department, revealed that Landaverde allegedly engaged in inappropriate interactions with three students during his two-year tenure with the district. Little Elm ISD stated that these incidences allegedly occurred in the last week of the school year.

Upon learning of the allegations last Thursday, school officials acted promptly by removing Landaverde from any contact with students and terminating his employment. The district has expressed its commitment to student safety, emphasizing that creating safe and supportive school environments is paramount.

Little Elm ISD released a statement informing Brent Elementary families about the situation and assuring them of transparency and cooperation with law enforcement. “This matter is now in the hands of law enforcement, and we are fully cooperating with their investigation,” the statement read.

However, details regarding the specific charges and bond amount against Landaverde remain undisclosed. Authorities are encouraging anyone with further information related to the case to reach out to the Little Elm Police Department.

As this investigation unfolds, parents and community members are urged to maintain open lines of communication with schools, ensuring that student safety remains a shared priority.
