Richardson Man Sentenced to 60 Years for Child Sexual Abuse
RICHARDSON, Texas – George Kenneth Orton, Jr., an 80-year-old resident of Richardson, has been sentenced to 60 years in federal prison for the sexual exploitation of a seven-year-old child. This decision follows a jury’s conviction on two counts of sexual exploitation in October 2024.
During the investigation, law enforcement discovered a USB drive and two laptops in Orton’s home that contained child sexual abuse material. Sentencing took place on May 14, 2025, where U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr imposed consecutive maximum sentences of 360 months for each count, totaling 720 months in federal confinement.
Judge Starr condemned Orton’s actions as “unspeakable” and stated that his age did not warrant leniency. The judge emphasized the severity of the crimes and the necessity for strict consequences.
The FBI expressed its commitment to protecting children and ensuring that those who exploit them face justice. “The significant sentence given to the defendant sends a clear message that crimes against children will not be tolerated,” said R. Joseph Rothrock, FBI Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas Division.
This case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat child exploitation and underscores the importance of community vigilance in protecting vulnerable individuals. The collaboration between various law enforcement agencies continues to play a critical role in addressing such heinous offenses.
