Emma Stone’s Red Carpet Bee Encounter Steals the Show at Cannes
CANNES, FRANCE – Emma Stone turned heads on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday, showcasing a stunning white gown at the premiere of her latest film, “Eddington.” The actress, alongside co-stars Pedro Pascal and Austin Butler, appeared poised and glamorous—until an unexpected guest arrived: a buzzing bee.
As the trio posed for photographers, chaos ensued when the bee made its presence known. Video footage shared on MTV’s Instagram captured Stone’s startled reaction as the insect hovered nearby. "Is that a bee?" she exclaimed, turning to Pascal for reassurance.
Despite Butler’s attempts to blow the bee away, the situation grew increasingly frantic. Stone visibly squirmed and lunged away from Pascal, attempting to dodge the persistent critter. Amidst laughter from her co-stars, she even crouched low on the red carpet in a desperate bid to evade the buzzing menace.
Fortunately, the encounter ended without injury, but the bee quickly became a talking point on social media, with fans playfully declaring it the true star of the festival. Comments ranged from humorous to endearing, with one fan joking, "Oh hello, basically stalking," while another remarked on Pascal being “sweet like honey.”
In addition to Stone’s unforgettable bee antics, the festival saw some changes in dress code this year. Halle Berry, who was forced to change her outfit due to new guidelines banning “excessively voluminous” clothing, shared her disappointment over not being able to wear the striking gown she had originally chosen.
