Kimpton Hotels Announces Fredericksburg Location
FREDERICKSBURG, Texas—Kimpton Hotels, part of the IHG Hotels & Resorts luxury and lifestyle portfolio, has revealed plans to develop its fourth Texas location, Kimpton Fredericksburg, in partnership with Houston-based DC Partners. Slated to open in 2027, the 210-room hotel will serve as the centerpiece of The Meuse, a 22-acre mixed-use development named in honor of Fredericksburg’s founder, John O. Meusebach.
Designed by Merriman Anderson Architects and Curioso, the hotel aims to harmonize with the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Sustainable features, such as native landscaping and climate-efficient systems, will minimize environmental impact. On-site amenities will include a full-service restaurant, poolside bar, a 10,000-square-foot resort-style pool, and a fitness center, all complemented by Kimpton’s signature offerings like evening social hours and pet-friendly policies.
Conveniently located 90 minutes from both Austin and San Antonio, Kimpton Fredericksburg will provide over 18,500 square feet of versatile event space, including an event barn and rooftop lounge. This establishment will uniquely blend luxury accommodations with a comprehensive events program, enhancing its appeal to both business and leisure travelers.
Leanne Harwood, SVP of luxury and lifestyle Americas at IHG, expressed enthusiasm about expanding their Texas footprint and bringing distinctive experiences to the region. Blake Berg of DC Partners highlighted the project’s commitment to integrating Fredericksburg’s heritage and charm into the development.
With this new venture, Kimpton Fredericksburg joins the brand’s Texas portfolio, which includes properties in San Antonio and Fort Worth. As Kimpton continues to grow, it currently operates 79 hotels globally, with 61 additional projects underway.
