Jennifer Lopez Suffers Facial Injury While Preparing for 2025 AMAs
Los Angeles, CA – Music superstar Jennifer Lopez recently faced an unexpected hurdle while rehearsing for the upcoming 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs), where she is set to host. On May 26, the multi-talented star shared a candid update with her fans on Instagram, showcasing a cut on her nose sustained during practice.
In a series of Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Lopez provided a glimpse of her injury and wrote, “So this happened…” alongside a photo of her icing her wounded face. She later revealed more details about the incident, confirming that it occurred during AMAs rehearsals. A follow-up post featured the singer with Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon Dr. Diamond, who treated her injury. “Thank you for stitching me up Dr. Diamond. A week later and a whole lotta ice and I’m good as new,” she said gratefully.
Lopez, a three-time AMA winner, is no stranger to the event, having previously hosted in 2015. Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, expressed enthusiasm about having her return, stating, “Jennifer’s incredible talent and incomparable stage presence make her the ideal host. We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kick-off celebration of summer.”
The 2025 AMAs, set to air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ from the BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas, will feature performances from notable artists including Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish.
This isn’t the first time Lopez has faced challenges while performing; she recalled injuring herself at the 2009 AMAs after slipping on a dancer’s back. Known for her resilience, she humorously reassured fans that she would take precautions during her performances.
