Press Release: Grapevine Man Arrested for Alleged Role in Venezuelan Contract Killings
GRAPEVINE, Texas – A man sought in connection with a contract killing involving four individuals in Venezuela was apprehended in Grapevine earlier this month, as reported by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Anthony Fabian Marin La Torre, a 42-year-old Venezuelan national, was arrested on May 2 after U.S. law enforcement received a notification from Venezuelan authorities about his involvement in the homicides. The coordinated operation included agencies such as the DEA, FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, and ICE Dallas.
Marin La Torre entered the United States illegally near the port of entry in San Luis, Arizona, on September 26, 2022, along with family members. He is currently held in ICE custody, facing charges as an inadmissible alien and pending removal hearings.
While detailed information regarding the nature of the homicides or Marin La Torre’s specific role remains undisclosed, ICE officials emphasized the dangers posed by such fugitives. "This fugitive stands accused of some horrific crimes, further representing a threat in the communities of Texas that we will not tolerate," stated Josh Johnson, acting Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Dallas.
