DALLAS POLICE ARREST TEEN IN FATAL SHOOTING OF CLASSMATE
Dallas, TX – A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with the tragic shooting death of fellow teen Nathaniel Vazquez. The Dallas Police Department announced the arrest of Robert Whitney on May 8, 2025, following an investigation into Vazquez’s death.
Nathaniel Vazquez was reported missing on February 9, and his body was discovered the next day inside a vehicle on Elsie Faye Heggins Street, with evidence suggesting he died from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, creating shockwaves throughout his community and among his family, who had eagerly anticipated his graduation from the Texas Can Academy-Dallas this spring.
