Press Release: Arrest Made in Northwest Dallas Sexual Assault Case
DALLAS – The Dallas Police Department has apprehended 32-year-old Alex Suarez in connection with a sexual assault case that has been under investigation since April 25. Suarez was arrested following a violent encounter at an apartment in the 9700 block of Dale Crest Drive, where he allegedly assaulted a woman early in the morning.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim was awakened by one of her teenage daughters, who reported an intruder in their home. Upon confronting the suspect, who was found crouched in the kitchen, Suarez instructed her to remain silent and proceeded to assault her. Disturbingly, the affidavit noted that he left saliva on the victim’s neck during the crime. The suspect fled the scene when he was startled by passersby outside the apartment.
Following the incident, the victim sought medical attention, and DNA evidence collected matched a profile already in the system belonging to Suarez. The police emphasized that community tips and thorough investigative efforts led to the issuance of an arrest warrant. Additional charges may arise pending further forensic analysis.
Authorities previously linked Suarez to another sexual assault that occurred just a day later, on April 26, in the 8800 block of Fair Oaks Crossing. The two crime scenes are approximately nine miles apart. In both incidents, the suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, wearing a black ski mask and dark clothing.
Currently, Suarez is detained at the Dallas County Jail with a bond set at $100,000. Police have released previous mugshots to aid the community in identifying the suspect.
