Dallas Police Arrest Two Teens for Capital Murder in East Oak Cliff Incident
DALLAS – In a tragic turn of events, Dallas police have arrested two 17-year-old boys in connection with the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Adam Gutierrez on March 13, 2025, in East Oak Cliff. The most recent arrest occurred on Sunday, involving Juan Saucedo, while Andrew Gallegos was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals’ Task Force on March 31, 2025. Both face charges of capital murder for the death of a person under 15 years old.
Gutierrez was found with fatal wounds in an alley behind a residence on Exeter Avenue shortly after 1:30 a.m. on the night of the incident. According to the investigation, Gutierrez had traveled to the residence with three females to sell Gallegos a THC vape pen. After entering the home to fetch change for the $25 pen, a text directed Gutierrez to the door, moments before the sound of gunfire erupted.
Conditions surrounding the murder reveal a motive rooted in retaliation. Gallegos stated the altercation stemmed from an earlier incident in which Gutierrez allegedly took a gun belonging to Saucedo. Gallegos claimed he was solicited to assist in a robbery, with Saucedo offering $200 for his involvement.
The arrest affidavits suggest that Saucedo had a tactical shotgun during the encounter with Gutierrez and, following the shooting, removed the victim’s clothing and jewelry. Both suspects attended Molina High School and had been friends with Gutierrez prior to the events leading to his death.
As the investigation continues, Saucedo remains detained on a $500,000 bond, while Gallegos is held on a $1 million bond. This disturbing incident highlights the dangers associated with youth violence and illegal drug transactions.
