Another Beautiful Day for North Texas; Showers Expected on Cinco de Mayo

Beautiful Weather Ahead for North Texas, But Stay Alert for Upcoming Storms

North Texas residents can look forward to a stunning Sunday after enjoying a picturesque Saturday. The forecast indicates a cool morning with temperatures in the 40s and 50s, giving way to a sunny afternoon with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s. It’s an ideal day for outdoor activities, though individuals should be cautious of the medium pollen count, which may trigger allergies.

As the day progresses, clouds are expected to build, with the potential for spotty showers showing up as early as lunchtime. While the severe weather threat remains low for Monday, the First Alert Weather Team will be monitoring conditions for stronger storms that may develop along a dryline, particularly threatening western counties by evening.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, North Texans should prepare for rain and thunderstorms, as a low-pressure system moves into the region. Residents might encounter small hail and gusty winds, particularly in southern counties where the risk of severe storms is heightened. The most pressing concern for Tuesday will be flooding, with anticipated rain totals ranging from 1 to 2 inches, and potentially higher amounts in localized areas. Due to this forecast, Tuesday has been designated as a First Alert Weather Day.

While lower rain chances will follow for the latter part of the week, a complete washout isn’t expected. Fortunately, clear skies and sunshine are predicted to return just in time for next weekend.

Stay safe and enjoy your day in the sun, North Texas!
