Texas A&M Men’s Basketball Welcomes Texas Transfer Jamie Vinson

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M men’s basketball coach Bucky McMillan has secured a vital addition to the Aggies’ roster for the 2025-26 season with the signing of Jamie Vinson, a 6-11 forward from Texas. Announced on Tuesday, this transfer comes after Vinson’s brief stint with the Longhorns, where he averaged 2.2 points and 1.1 rebounds across nine games, logging under five minutes per game.

A native of Austin, Vinson showcased his potential at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, where he was highly rated among recruits. He was ranked as the No. 217 overall prospect and the No. 47 power forward in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, and was acknowledged as Virginia’s No. 8 player. His high school accomplishments, coupled with his collegiate experience, provide a strong foundation for his future contributions at A&M.

During his time with Texas, Vinson demonstrated efficiency, boasting a 75% field goal percentage and a perfect 100% from beyond the arc in limited appearances. Although his playing time was minimal, the Aggies see great promise in his abilities as he transitions to a more prominent role in College Station.

McMillan expressed enthusiasm about Vinson’s arrival, indicating that his skills and size will enhance the team’s performance in the upcoming season. As the Aggies prepare for their future, the addition of Vinson marks a significant step in bolstering their competitive edge in college basketball.

With this move, Texas A&M aims to fortify its roster and improve its standing in the league, making the 2025-26 season one to watch for Aggie fans.
