ARLINGTON, Texas – On April 23, an employee of Arlington Parks and Recreation discovered a large snake perched in a tree at Veterans Park. The snake, identified as a red-tailed boa constrictor, measured approximately 6 feet in length. Animal services officials noted that the snake appeared well-cared for, suggesting it had likely escaped from its owner.
Animal services officers promptly intervened, successfully rescuing the snake from a low-hanging branch. This species, typically kept as a pet, is not equipped to survive independently in the wild.
