West Texas A&M Baseball Secures Spot in 2025 Lone Star Conference Championships

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Baseball has clinched the fifth seed for the upcoming 2025 Lone Star Conference (LSC) Championships, set to face off against rival Lubbock Christian. The championship spans two weeks, commencing with best-of-three series from May 2-4, hosted by the No. 2, 3, and 4 seeds: UT Tyler, St. Edward’s, and Lubbock Christian.

The first week of playoffs will lead to a decisive double-elimination round on May 8-10, hosted by top seed Angelo State—who enters the tournament as the reigning LSC champion following an impressive 41-7 overall record and an 11-game winning streak. ASU leads the conference in both batting average (.378) and fielding percentage (.977) and aims to defend their title after winning the national championship last year.

UT Tyler, the No. 2 seed, will host No. 7 seed Texas A&M-Kingsville, while No. 3 seed St. Edward’s will face No. 6 seed St. Mary’s in their respective series. Both matchups feature teams with strong performances throughout the season, promising competitive action.

As for the West Texas A&M and Lubbock Christian series, the two teams are set to play on Friday at 6 p.m. CT, Saturday at 3 p.m. CT, and Sunday if necessary at 1 p.m. CT. Lubbock Christian, last year’s tournament champion, boasts the highest number of home runs in the league with 81.

All championship games will be streamed live on FloCollege. The ultimate winner will earn the title of LSC Baseball Tournament Champion and secure automatic entry into the 2025 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.
