Coyotes Begin Outdoor Season in Texas

The South Dakota Track & Field program is gearing up for its first weekend of the outdoor season with competitions at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and the Bobcat Invitational in Texas. The Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays will run from March 26-29 in Austin, with live streams available on the SEC Network+. The Bobcat Invitational will take place in San Marcos from Thursday to Saturday, with live stats accessible online.

The Coyotes last competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships, where Eerik Haamer placed ninth in the pole vault event. Despite not starting their outdoor season yet, the team earned 10 indoor Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the week honors this year.

During the indoor season, several Coyote athletes delivered top performances, with some entering the all-time top-10 list at South Dakota. Notable achievements include Caleb Rivera and Mason Sindelar setting records in the mile and 800-meters, respectively. On the women’s side, Averi Schmeichel and Berkeley Engelland impressed in the 60-hurdles and 800-meters events.

As the Coyotes prepare to kick off their outdoor season, they are looking to build on their successes from the indoor season and make a mark at the upcoming meets. Fans can follow along with live stats and streams to catch all the action from these exciting competitions.
