Former pastor of Texas megachurch, Robert Preston Morris, is expected to surrender to Oklahoma authorities on child sexual abuse charges. Morris, 63, faces five counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child and plans to plead not guilty. He resigned from Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, last year after being accused of sexually abusing a woman in the 1980s when she was 12 years old. The alleged abuse continued for four years. The victim, Cindy Clemishire, expressed gratitude for the indictment and hopes for justice. Morris could face up to 20 years in prison for each charge. The church, known for hosting President Donald Trump, is not expected to comment on the charges. Osage County judge set a $50,000 bond for Morris and ordered him to surrender his passport. The case highlights the importance of holding perpetrators of child sexual abuse accountable and seeking justice for survivors.
