North Texas church leader Chuck Adair, 64, is a lifetime registered sex offender with a history of child sexual assault. Court records show that he served time in prison for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 1995. Despite his past, Adair serves as a preaching minister at Grace Place Church of Christ in Duncanville and volunteers in the prison ministry at Watermark Community Church in Dallas.
Both churches have acknowledged Adair’s criminal record on social media, but have not specified his charges. Grace Place Church stated that Adair has no legal restrictions preventing him from participating in church activities, while Watermark Community Church elders confirmed that he does not work with minors at their church.
In a statement to The Dallas Morning News in 2012, Adair confessed to crossing legal and moral boundaries in the past, admitting to a “brief affair” with a high school senior while working for a church in Oklahoma. This relationship led to his conviction and 10-year prison sentence.
Since his release, Adair has remarried his victim, who filed for divorce two years later. He returned to Dallas in 2005 while on parole and joined Skillman Church of Christ.
Despite his troubled past, Adair continues to remain active in ministry, serving other adults through recovery and prison ministries. KERA News has reached out to Adair for comment on his current position and actions.
