Early Voting Information and What to Know

As Election Day approaches, it is important for voters to be aware of key dates and information regarding early voting and polling locations. Early voting for the upcoming election runs from Monday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Nov. 1, and Election Day is on Tuesday, Nov. 5. On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Texas, with voters allowed to cast their ballots if they are in line by 7 p.m. Early voting locations and hours can be found for Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties.

A record number of people turned out to vote early on the first day, and daily voting totals can be checked for each county to compare with previous years. It is also important for voters to be informed about the candidates on the ballot, with key down-ballot races such as the one between Ted Cruz and Colin Allred in Texas.

In addition to voting, presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are both visiting Texas. Harris is expected to address reproductive freedom in Houston alongside Allred, Willie Nelson, and Beyoncé. Meanwhile, Trump will be making appearances in Austin and hosting a rally in Michigan. Both candidates are engaging with popular media figures, with Trump scheduled to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast and Harris sitting down with Brené Brown. Obama also joined Harris at a rally in Detroit, showcasing their strong campaigns and endorsements as the election day approaches.
