The Texas Sports Writers Association recently announced their Class 5A all-state baseball team, and several players from Corpus Christi have been recognized for their outstanding performances during the past season. Among those honored are players from various high schools across the city, including veterans Memorial, Calallen, and Flour Bluff.
Veterans Memorial had a strong showing on the all-state team, with four players receiving recognition. Infielder Eddie Molina, outfielder Benny Najar, pitcher Jake Miller, and catcher Daunte Fields were all named to the team for their impressive contributions to the team’s success this season.
Calallen also had a standout player named to the all-state team, with pitcher Hambleton Oliver receiving the honor. Oliver was a key player for Calallen this season, helping lead the team to a successful season and demonstrating his talent on the mound.
Flour Bluff rounded out the Corpus Christi representation on the all-state team, with outfielder Luke Smith earning a spot on the roster.
